Enterprise This page is for engineering teams self-hosting their own Lightdash instance.
The organization roadmap is a page under Settings → Roadmap where users with the view:Roadmap permission can see every feature request their organization has raised with Lightdash, alongside everything Lightdash has shipped in the last month and everything currently planned or in progress across the product. Each item shows its current status (Backlog, Building, Shipped, Canceled) and links to the public GitHub issue and delivering pull request. Any user in a role with the manage:Roadmap scope can follow an item to register interest, and the follow count is visible to Lightdash when prioritizing work. The data is served by a Lightdash-operated roadmap service. Your instance’s backend fetches it on behalf of signed-in users. Your browser never connects to the service directly, and the service never connects to your instance.

Requirements

  1. An Enterprise license key that validated at boot — the roadmap service authenticates your instance with the same Enterprise license key your deployment already uses. Every organization on the instance gets the roadmap once the license validates.
  2. Your organization enabled on the roadmap service — your license must be linked to your organization on the Lightdash side. Contact your Lightdash representative to get this set up. Until then, the Roadmap page shows “Your roadmap isn’t set up yet”.
  3. The view:Roadmap permission on each user who should see it — the built-in Admin role and the Roadmap viewer preset already include it; add it to any custom role that needs access.

This is outbound-only. Your instance requests your organization’s roadmap, receives curated data back, and sends follow actions when a user follows an item. Follow requests include the acting user’s name and email and your organization name alongside the license key and the identifier of the followed item. No other data about your instance, users, or usage is sent.

What your organization can see

  • Your feature requests — every request your organization has raised with Lightdash, with its current status and links to the public GitHub issue and delivering pull request.
  • Recently shipped — everything Lightdash has concluded in the last month, across all customers.
  • Planned and in progress — items currently in Backlog or Building, across all customers.
Any user in a role with the manage:Roadmap scope can follow an item to register interest with Lightdash. When a new release ships one of your organization’s feature requests, it appears first, under Requested by your organization, in the What’s new panel and page that users who can open the roadmap see before they upgrade. Only your own organization’s feature requests are returned in the requests view. Each instance’s license is bound to its organization on the service side, and requests for any other organization are refused. Items only appear on the roadmap once they have a public GitHub issue, and the fields shown (title, description, status, links) are limited to what is already public there.
